{"id":147105,"date":"2018-06-27T09:05:10","date_gmt":"2018-06-27T09:05:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/freeonlinetranslators.net\/news\/english\/zimbabwes-mnangagwa-blames-grace-mugabe-faction-for-blast\/"},"modified":"2018-06-27T09:05:10","modified_gmt":"2018-06-27T09:05:10","slug":"zimbabwes-mnangagwa-blames-grace-mugabe-faction-for-blast","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/freeonlinetranslators.net\/news\/english\/zimbabwes-mnangagwa-blames-grace-mugabe-faction-for-blast\/","title":{"rendered":"Zimbabwe&#8217;s Mnangagwa blames Grace Mugabe faction for blast"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure>             <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ichef.bbci.co.uk\/images\/ic\/720x405\/p06c64zp.jpg\"\/>Media playback is unsupported on your device<figcaption>Media captionMnangagwa: Criminal will be hounded down, but Zimbabwe is safe<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"caps\">The President of Zimbabwe, Emmerson Mnangagwa, said he suspects a group linked to the former first lady was behind an attempt on his life.<\/p>\n<p>Two people died and more than 40 were hurt in an explosion near Mr Mnangagwa at a rally in Bulawayo on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Mnangagwa told the BBC&#039;s Fergal Keane that he suspected the G40 group, which supported Grace Mugabe for the presidency, had carried out the attack.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs Mugabe&#039;s husband, Robert Mugabe, was removed from power last year.<\/p>\n<p>Widespread suspicion that Mrs Mugabe intended to succeed her husband as the country&#039;s leader was a contributing factor to the political transition, and the army&#039;s involvement in it.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Mnangagwa did not accuse Mrs Mugabe of being involved in the attempt on his life.<\/p>\n<p>He told the BBC he expects arrests to be made shortly. <\/p>\n<p>&quot;I don&#039;t know whether it was one individual - I would think it is broader than one person.
