A Ford Focus was stopped on a section of the A421 near Bedford at about 21:10 BST on Thursday.
Police posted an image of the speed gun display on Twitter after the man was arrested.

Once in custody, police said, he was found to be under the limit, but will face action for the speeding offence.
The road policing unit's Twitter post about the arrest drew a number of responses from members of the public shocked at the driver's speed.
